GOLFER - MUSCLE BALANCE/IMBALANCE

Excessive practice and prolonged standing in golf positions can lead to the frontal muscles becoming too strong and tight and cause the posterior (back) muscles becoming over-stretched and weak. This is further exacerbated by modern living; spending hours in front of a computer and driving a car all draw the muscles of the body forward.

Add to this the assymetrical movement of the golf swing which results in the left side of the body (for the right handed golfer) taking excessive impact. The loss of body symmetry (scoliosis & kyphosis) and excessive loading on the left side is also exacerbated by intensive practice.

This can be relieved by breaking up these sessions with specific stretching and strengthening exercises in the opposing direction.

Crucifix or Double Stop Sign Exercise
