The aims and objectives of Golf Fitness & Physiotherapy
(GFP) are to inform golfers how their body affects their ability
to swing the golf club.
GFP informs the golfer of the important golf specific muscles that should be trained to enhance performance.
This is carried out by a process called “Physical Profiling” which determines physical and postural limitations of the golfer (see “Golf Swings” for some examples). It enables early detection of muscle imbalances, prevents injury and allows the golfer to maintain peak performance.
Most golfers are unaware of the muscle groups they should be
training to enhance golf performance. The great majority use the wrong muscle groups with poor technique within the gym
environment.
GFP will identify physical and postural limitations and inform
the golfer of the golf specific muscles that need to be addressed
in order to maintain and improve performance.
Golf Exercise Routines & Equipment
Golf Exercise Routines & Equipment (GERE) is a series of specifically designed exercises that target golf specific
muscles using basic pieces of equipment.
Each exercise includes advice on how it will
“benefit the golfer”.
Golf Fitness & Physiotherapy (GFP) was established to
provide the golfer with the knowledge to improve their “golf specific physical wellbeing”, which in turn should
allow the golfer to play more efficiently, increasing their
golfing longevity.
